DSkip Cleaning

Mental health and cleaning

When the housework has become too much.

Sancia cleans for people in Greater Wellington whose mental health has made the house hard to keep. Depression, anxiety, burnout, and other conditions all show up this way. The visit is practical help, handled without commentary.

A home can slide when getting started feels impossible. Dishes, laundry, the bathroom, and the floors stop being small jobs and become a wall. That is common. It is also the work Sancia wants.

DSkip is a cleaning service, not a clinical one. The team does not provide counselling, and a clean is not treatment. What it can do is take a room, or a whole house, back to a state where daily life is easier.

She covers 82 suburbs from Wellington City through the Hutt, Porirua, and the Kapiti Coast. If the address sits on the edge of that map, ask.

Who can get in touch

The person, their family, or someone already supporting them.

If it is your home

You do not have to explain a diagnosis or apologise for the state of the place. Tell Sancia which room would make the week easier, and that is where the visit starts.

If you are family or whānau

You can book on someone's behalf. Say who will be home, who holds the keys, and what the person is comfortable with. Sancia will follow that brief.

If you support someone

Support workers, community teams, and other people already in the person's life can arrange the clean. Name the contact, the access, and the rooms that matter first.

How the visit works

A pace the person can live with.

01

One conversation first

A call or the form is enough. Suburb, what the home is like now, and what would help. Photos are useful if the person is happy to send them. They are not required.

02

Start where daily life happens

Kitchen, bathroom, a clear path through the house, laundry, or one bedroom. The whole home does not have to be finished in a single visit.

03

A reset, or a rhythm

Some homes need one thorough visit. Others stay manageable with a regular clean, so the work does not land on the person all at once.

04

Present, or not

Some people want to be there. Others find that harder. The team can work while the person is out, or meet a support person who already has access.

There is no lecture and no story told about the house afterwards. The brief stays with the booking. If a support person should be the only contact, say so.

Some homes need more than a clean. Heavy mould, hazardous waste, pest contamination, or a volume of rubbish that needs a clearance are a different job. Sancia will say so before anyone starts, and she will still help name what a cleaning visit can do.

Enquire

Tell us what would help.

You, a family member, or a support worker can send this. Include the suburb, who to speak with, and whether it is one visit or a regular clean. Call 027 275 7389 if talking is easier.

Other home, workplace, and handover work is on the services page.
